Melanie Fitzsimmons

Melanie Fitzsimmons is an educator and nonprofit leader dedicated to community-based learning and social impact in the Dominican Republic. She serves as a professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), where she teaches Afro Caribbean culture and literature courses. She is also the Director of Fundación Futuro Lleno de Esperanza (FLE) in Santiago, a nonprofit focused on early childhood education, holistic community development, and family engagement. Deeply committed to education as a tool for transformation, her work bridges academia and grassroots initiatives to create meaningful, sustainable learning opportunities for learners and communities.
