Ana Gutierrez

I am a Costa Rican biologist. I did my undergraduate and MSc at the Universidad de Costa Rica. Some of my research interests are ecology, animal communication and behavior, urban ecology, and bioacoustics. Part of my research is focused on understanding the impacts of anthropogenic pollutants on the acoustic communication, behaviour and survival of amphibians and other animals living in urbanized conditions. In recent years I have also started working in education and have worked as a Teaching Assistant, Instructor, local biologist, and Co-coordinator for several courses and programs with different organizations. I have been an HSSA instructor in CIEE for 4 years.
